CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF BBYO
Read the “100 Birthday” notes to BBYO from BBYO's International Teen Presidents and BBYO’s CEO, Matt Grossman!
On May 3, 1924, a group of young men in Omaha, Nebraska founded a Movement that would shape the lives of hundreds of thousands of Jewish teens for the next century. The Movement they started was the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA). Twenty years later, an assembly of young women founded the B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG), bringing BBYO to life in its fullest form. Together, AZA and BBG form the global Jewish teen Movement that now approaches its Centennial anniversary.
Since BBYO’s founding nearly 100 years ago, its mission and purpose has been to unleash the power of youth. BBYO is a place where Jewish teens form their fondest memories, develop leadership skills, establish lifelong friendships, advocate for causes they care about, and find meaning in their Jewish heritage.
As the sun begins to rise on the next century, you are invited to be a part of all that BBYO is and all that it will become. Join teens, alumni, parents, advisors, staff, supporters, and friends for a year filled with laughter, memories, reunions, and celebrations. There is so much to look forward to in our Movement's next chapter.
